The most beautiful beaches in the Landes

The Landes coast is famous for its beautiful golden sand beaches nestled between the vast Atlantic Ocean and the majestic pine forest. It stretches 106 km from Tarnos to Biscarosse and boasts 15 seaside resorts.

But what are the most beautiful Landes beaches that you absolutely must see during your stay on the Silver Coast?

Establishing a top of the most beautiful beaches in the Landes is very subjective and depends on the expectations of each and every one of us, but here, in my opinion, are the beaches that are really worth relaxing on. I'm not showing you photos of these beaches so that you can have the pleasure of discovering them for yourself on the big day 😉

The central beach of Moliets-et-Maa

Go ahead, add it to your itinerary right away. Once you're on this beach, you'll immediately understand why it's one of the most beautiful beaches in the Landes, in my opinion.

It has all the elements you'd expect from a Landes beach: the ocean, of course, but above all, the wild, natural feel that's enhanced here by the mouth of the Huchet Current. What a magnificent picture nature offers us. On one side, the gigantic Atlantic Ocean, and on the other, the Huchet Current, which flows through the Landes forest to meet the ocean. Quite simply sublime!

The icing on the cake is that the current's path changes from year to year, making Mother Nature's spectacle a different one every year.

Santocha Beach in Capbreton

Further south, in Capbreton, you'll also love Santocha Beach (or Savane Beach). This beach is unusual due to the presence of several blockhouses, remnants of the Atlantic Wall. A beach steeped in history, it's now a paradise for surfers and vacationers. These blockhouses have recently been the setting for works of art that add a touch of joy and help raise awareness among vacationers about the fragility of this exceptional wild environment that is the Landes coast.

The little extra for me is the restaurant/bar at the entrance to the beach, which calms our cravings and makes us appreciate this magnificent beach even more. In short, it is undoubtedly one of the prettiest beaches in the Landes region that you must discover during your next stay.

Contis Beach

Contis Beach in Saint-Julien-en-Born is also one of the most beautiful beaches on the Landes coast. Bordered by dunes, it has retained its wild side. Behind the dunes, the Landes forest is overlooked by the beautiful Contis lighthouse, which offers a splendid view of the Landes coast from its summit. Which is the most beautiful view? From the beach, or from the top of the lighthouse?

Notre-Dame Beach in Capbreton

Once again, I suggest you go and relax in Capbreton.

But this time, north of the city, near Hossegor. Notre-Dame Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Landes region, in my opinion, for several reasons. First, this beach is in close proximity to the city and its services, including various restaurants. Second, the panoramic view from the beach of the iconic Capbreton jetty and its lighthouses is simply magnificent, especially at sunset, which colors the landscape with warm, vibrant hues. Finally, the Notre-Dame statue adds a touch of history to this beach and piques our curiosity.
